Fluorescent and bioluminescent reporters

These standard viral vectors encoding fluorescent and bioluminescent reporters, provide unparalleled adaptability for your research projects*.

These reporters are under the control of the strong and constitutive EF1a promoter in order to be expressed in any cell type (dividing and non-dividing cells, stem cells, neuronal cells,…). The reporter expression can be localized to the cytoplasm of the transduced cell or a specific organelle.

Reporter expressing vectors are very useful for assessing transduction efficacy, measuring gene expression or for in vivo tracing (with firefly luciferase).

What are fluorescent viral vectors?

These ready-to-use, high-titer viral particles contain a gene that encodes for a fluorescent protein— 9 fluorescent protein options are available. Unless specified, the fluorescent proteins do not target a specific location within the cells, so they will mainly express in the cytoplasm of the cell.

If a specific subcellular localization is desired, other Standard viral vector expressing fluorescent proteins into specific organelles such as Actin, Tubulin, Golgi, Nucleus, Mitochondria, Endosome, Membrane and Endoplasmic Reticulum are available. All these products also allow puromycin antibiotic selection.

Reporter expression can be localized in the cytoplasm of the transduced cell or in a specific organelle, offering maximum flexibility for your experiments. These gene delivery tools are very useful for assessing transduction efficiency, measuring gene expression or performing in vivo tracing.

How do the subcellular localization viral vectors work?

Each subcellular localization vector expresses a bright fluorescent protein fused to a domain that targets it to a specific cellular compartment. Click on subcellular fluorescent viral vectors for more information on available lentiviral particles for subcellular localization studies.
